Player Data

A product of the Hampshire academy, David Griffiths is a talented right-arm pacer who is immensely talented. He was a part of the England Under-19 side that beat Bangladesh at home in 2004 and was also on the tour of India in 2005. He struggled in his initial years with inconsistencies and injuries and four years later finally he managed to get a good run in the first team for Hampshire. He had a good 2009 season where he produced a brilliant spell of 4/29 to power Hampshire to a three-wicket win over Gloucestershire in a Pro40 match at the Rose Bowl. He continued the good work in the 2010 season too but unfortunately he got injured again and missed most part of the season. However, he was back in 2012 and was a part of the T20 side that beat Yorkshire to win that year’s domestic T20 title. He was eventually named in Hampshire’s Champions League T20 squad.
