Over 46.3: SIX! KL RAHUL SCORES THE WINNING RUNS AND INDIA ARE ON BOARD IN THIS CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2025. Sakib bowls it short and angles it towards the leg stump. KL Rahul is quick to read the length and transfers the weight on the back foot. Swivels and pulls it with no intention to keep it down. Hoists it over deep square leg for a huge six. Not the easiest of the chases for India as Bangladesh made them work really hard to get these runs.
KL Rahul - 6 runs (47 balls)
Over 45.2: THERE'S THE MOMENT! ODI HUNDRED NUMBER 8 FOR SHUBMAN GILL! Back of a length, around off, Shubman Gill steers it past backward point for a single. Gets to the other end, removes his helmet and bows down toward the dressing room where his teammates are up in applause, and so is the crowd. Also, Ravi Shastri on-air mentions that this is the slowest ODI century by any Indian batter post the ICC ODI World Cup 2019. But, Gill has paced his innings masterfully, batting along challenging and slow conditions of Dubai. Held onto one end and is almost there to see his team through the winning line.
Shubman Gill - 1 runs (125 balls)
Over 44.4: FOUR! Moves onto 98 now, does Gill! Short in length, angling on the leg stump, Shubman Gill stands tall, uses the pace and just half-pulls it away to deep backward square leg for a boundary.
Shubman Gill - 4 runs (122 balls)
Over 44.2: SIX! Wow, what shot and Shubman Gill sprints into the 90s, just one shot away from a century. On a good length and angled into the pads, Gill just takes a step across to get inside the line and effortlessly whips it high and over deep mid-wicket fr a biggie.
Shubman Gill - 6 runs (120 balls)
Over 43.3: FOUR! Beautiful from KL! Bowled a touch fuller and angled across the off stump, Rahul is quick to just get across and shift his weight onto the back foot before slashing it away through backward point for a boundary.
KL Rahul - 4 runs (41 balls)
Over 42.3: Mistimed but safe! Banged in a bit short and at the body, a heavy ball, Shubman Gill looks to pull but is late on it and gets it just over the mid-wicket region for a single. The 200 is up for India!
Shubman Gill - 1 runs (116 balls)
Over 40.6: FOUR! Shubman Gill pounces on that one and spoils the figures for Rishad Hossain just a bit. Fractionally short over middle and leg, Gill rocks back and pulls it flat and well in front of square for a boundary. Both Bangladeshi spinners have now been bowled out.
Shubman Gill - 4 runs (112 balls)
Over 38.2: SIX! BREAKS THE SHACKLES! Floated up, right in the slot and with long on inside the circle, KL Rahul clears out his front leg and thumps it over long on for a biggie.
KL Rahul - 6 runs (24 balls)
Over 36.4: FOUR! DEFT TOUCH! Taskin bowls it down the leg side, on a good length, Shubman Gill waits for it and just tickles it towards deep fine leg for a boundary.
Shubman Gill - 4 runs (97 balls)
Over 31.3: FOUR! A pressure-releasing boundary for India! Sakib hits the deck hard, just outside off, Shubman Gill waits for it and with a late adjustment, glides the ball towards deep third for a boundary. The 150 is up for India and they need 79 more runs to win.
Shubman Gill - 4 runs (79 balls)
Over 30.1: OUT! HIGH UP IN THE AIR AND CAUGHT! Bangladesh keep chipping away with wickets and India are four down now! Rishad Hossain bowls it quite fuller and right in front of the stumps. Axar Patel sits down to access the slog sweep but does not quite get his bat under the ball and ends up top-edging it over the bowler. The ball hangs up in the night sky for a long, long time. Swirls and descends down around the mid-wicket region. Rishad Hossain calls for his catch, locks his eyes on the ball and snaffles a reverse cup catch right in above of his face. India still need 85 runs to win as Axar Patel departs on 8 (12). Not a straightforward chase by any means as many would've anticipated this to be.
Axar Patel - 0 runs (12 balls)
Over 29.5: FOUR! LOVLELY SHOT! EFFORTLESS! Short of a length, angling into the batter, around middle, Axar Patel transfers his weight to the back foot and pulls it aerially over mid-wicket for a boundary.
Axar Patel - 4 runs (10 balls)
Over 27.4: OUT! CAUGHT! Bangladesh are making it back into the game! Fizz bowls on the fuller length and touch outside off, from over the wicket, with pace off, Shreyas Iyer comes forward and looks to loft it down the ground. He completely mistimes it because of the lack of pace as his left hand gets off the handle. The ball goes in the air towards mid off where Najmul Hossain Shanto backtracks a bit and moves to his right to catch it with both hands. India are 133/3.
Shreyas Iyer - 0 runs (17 balls)
Over 27.3: FOUR! THERE COMES THE BOUNDARY! On a good length, and touch outside off, Shreyas Iyer waits for it and opens the face of the bat to find the gap towards backward point for a boundary.
Shreyas Iyer - 4 runs (16 balls)
Over 24.6: ANOTHER FIFTY FOR SHUBMAN GILL! A composed one from the right-hander. A wrong'un around off, on a length, Shubman Gill reads the googly off the hands and turns it wide of mid-wicket for a single. He has looked unfazed at one end and has paced his innings nicely without any risky shots so far. Quite uncharacteristic of him to get there in 69 deliveries, but he has adapted according to the need of the situation for his team.
Shubman Gill - 1 runs (69 balls)
Over 23.5: EDGED AND FOUR! A slower cutter, outside off on a fractional fuller length, Shreyas Iyer pokes at it and gets a thick outside edge. The ball goes between the third slip and the keeper for a boundary.
Shreyas Iyer - 4 runs (3 balls)
Over 22.4: OUT! CAUGHT! GONE! Curtains for a patient knock from Virat Kohli as India lose their second wicket! Rishad Hossain offers some flight on it and lands it on a good length, around off. Turns away very sharply from the right-hander after pitching and skids a bit off the deck. Virat Kohli uses the depth of the crease as he goes back and across, creating room for himself to access the cut shot. But fails to keep it along the ground and offers a dolly of a catch to Soumya Sarkar at backward point. Rishad Hossain strikes gold for Bangladesh as Virat Kohli perishes on 22 (38).
Virat Kohli - 0 runs (38 balls)
Over 21.6: FOUR! Shot! A real drag-down from Mehidy, spinning down the leg stump line, Virat Kohli waits for it, hangs back and pulls it wide of short fine to his left for a boundary. First boundary for Kohli in 35 balls.
Virat Kohli - 4 runs (35 balls)
Over 19.6: This is darted in on the pads, and keeps low as well, Virat Kohli goes back and across to the leg side before swatting the pull wide of deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs.
Virat Kohli - 2 runs (32 balls)
Over 14.2: FOUR! And just like that, Gill is back up and running! Good length around off, Gill steps out of his crease and just plays a checked lofted drive over extra cover and picks up a boundary.
